HARPER'S BAZAAR AND GPO PRESENT MUSE A/W13

The grand and the modest; the radical and insignificant; the abstract and profound. The obsessions that haunt and inspire us. This was the theme that kicked off fashion week in Melbourne. I was so honoured to be invited to this event by raraPR. It was my first real insight into the fashion world. Something that I have only dreamed about. Never did I think as a child growing up in a small country town so small that the the road you lived on was your last name, that at the tender age of 20 I would be gracing the pavement of the fashion world. This was what inspired me. It made me hungry to be apart of this world. To actually pursue something that I am truly passionate about. Before last night it all seemed like a dream, but now it seems like a dream that is at my finger tips!

There are times in your life where you feel like you don't belong. You're in a room full of strangers and to scared to speak to anyone. You sit/stand in the corner of the room being invisible. This was quite the contrast of what last night was like for me. For the first time in my life I felt completely in my element although it was the type of situation I have never been in before. No one was a stranger yet I didn't know anyone.

The music, the food, the wine, the fashion, the culture was all inspiring. I have never seen so many good looking people in one room all at once. The vibe of the night was electrifying everyone was in a good mood, from those lucky enough to enjoy the night, to all the amazing staff that were working that night (including the security guard that my sister and I decided to have an elevator party with).

To sum it up. The things that inspire me in life and make me hungry for more is the people I surround myself with. Like minded human beings who understand and have the same type of dreams I have... so keep your eyes out. This is just the beginning.

Thanks Melbourne's GPO, Harper's Bazaar and raraPR for a wonderful night.

xx Laura
