It was the night of nights in the Australian fashion world, L'Oreal Fashion Festival kicked off. There was glitz there was glamour. It was the first runway show I had been to, and I was going to do it in style. Wearing Zimmerman, Zara and my brand new Mimco Clutch I was ready to strut my stuff. But we all know Murphy's law, something had to go wrong. I left my apartment to head into the city. Got about ten minuets down the road and then realised that I had left my camera battery and the memory card at home. So I had to turn back and get it. Arriving late I went straight to my free champagne and then my seat. I had the privilege of sitting to the very polite Mayor of Stonnington (one of the Sponsors of the event), His friend Councillor Claude Ullin and Stephen Bucknall of Bucknall Management. The gentleman made me feel very welcoming and gave me a few tips. Soon after the show began. It was all sleek back pony tails, simple make up and maroon/red lips. Samantha Harris, Montana Cox and Jessica Gomes stole the show. With other models including previous Australia's Next Top Model winner Alice Burdeu as well as Rachel Rutt, Louise Van de Vorst, Gabby, Hannah McDougall and Ivana Martyn just to name a few.
Stand out designers for me were Ellery, Willow, Camilla, Josh Goot and my favourite of the night was Mary Katrantzou. It was easy to see that last night was all in the detail, their were sequins, beading, embroidery and patterns galore. All in all it was a fabulous night to kick start the week. Cannot wait to view some of the other shows.
The Mayor of Mathew Koce, Councillor Claude Ullin and Stehphen Bcknall from Bucknall Managment
xx Laura
